Street Elite Cruiserz K11 Nissan Micra

Well peeps, we here at UK-Modding Scene have been very busy scouring the UK club forums looking for suitable metal for your viewing pleasure.

You may see this kind of motor constantly in 2nd gear tootling grandma along to the shops or bingo, or even the great base for tuning they offer in forms of motorsport.

Well now this is one for you modified car enthusiats to keep an eye on in 2011, Chris Baker from  Street Elite Cruiserz has owned his 1.3ltr K11 Nissan Micra since April 2008, with an already great passion for the world of modified cars, now you may be thinking why choose a motor like this to modifiy, defying all the odds and seeing this as a challenge Chris got to work with his micra.

After some research on the internet and seeing what was available styling and tuning wise for his Micra, Chris noticed readily available tuning parts of the shelf, due to there reputation within Rally Motorsport, Chris's Micra's Xmas had come early with such easily accessible parts such as suspension, brakes, transmission and wheel upgrades.

Right let the fun commence, here is how Chris's Micra Looked when he 1st got his project.

Now Chris has recieved the base for his project he can get to work and let his vision come true.

Chris started off with putting the micra on a diet, he stripped out the rear seats and added some hug me bucket seats for the fast road look.

Next to come were a set of alloy wheels some front fogs, laguna splitter and some other choice mods which has started to make this micra stand out from the crowd and scream LOOK AT ME already.

Those vinyls he has added - Nismo Vinyl, this may be a slight marmite mod for some but for me... it looks the dogs danglies.

Chris's micra is now on its way, with the knowledge of the upgrades readily available just a click away on the internet, Chris's micra grew to become a track/rally inspired car with a stripped out interior, a full White Line suspension upgrade (front upper and lower strut braces, bigger anti-roll bars etc),a custom one-off Suspension set up and lots of other unique parts. With wanting to take the car the next step further Chris looked into exterior upgrades.

Now this is the bit that is going to tease you and get you wanting more as the pics will be coming later on showing were Chris's micra is upto now...

Now with the handling setup of his micra sorted, Chris began looking towards the exterior asthetics for his Micra to take it to the next level. The bodykits available on the market for the nissan micra were not what Chris was looking for.

So with the project in full swing Chris decided he would pop down to a local bodyshop, with a vision in mind, Chris's Micra had undergone some plastic surgery so to speak and had its boot lid, bonnet and both bumpers modified. Chris believes the mods carried out to his Bumpers are complete One-Offs and are not on any other micra like it.

Soon after Chris caught the JDM bug, were he started to Import Parts from the land of the rising sun - Japan, to make the car more unique such as rear Tail Lamps and Boot Spoiler.

Now Chris's Micra is starting to look the part and on to make a good stamp on the UK modding scene he was approached by a company in Southend who offered to sponsor his car, were they Flocked the dashboard and the doorcards at a discounted rate.

This has brought his motor up to what it is in the metal today, with a few trick custom bits you will see in the pics and a few extra mods missed out in the write up, this is one Minter of a Modified Micra, which is worth keeping an eye on around the UK shows and events.

The work done to the car has been a mixture of Chris and close friends and local companies, all who have been a great help. A big thank you to the members of Chris's Club over at Street Elite Cruiserz
